Who We Are

The Wailin' Whalens are Lela and Dennis Whalen, a wife and husband team in Columbus, OH.

Our music emphasizes vocals and harmony (with an acoustic guitar that's along for the ride).

We perform what we like to listen to...a sometimes eclectic combination of musical styles covering classic rock, old-school country, and newer Americana.

Born in the basement??

We both love music and have been playing and singing for fun our whole lives. We starting playing and singing together in 2021, right in our basement. After working thorough some harmonies and sometimes suspect guitar playing, we've come through it with only minor scrapes!
