Everyone knows this 1971 John Denver hit.  But did you know that it was almost a Johnny Cash song?  The song was started by songwriters  Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert, with plans to sell it to Johnny.  Once Denver heard what they had, he jumped in and helped finish it.  The rest is history!
